I'm in the works of donating my time and "skills" to help some unfortunate seniors in my area with the help of a local agency to provide them some senior pictures.

I would photography the student, edit the pictures and hand over the files to the agency is what I'm thinking.

Would I need to get any type of waiver for me to use these photos in the future? If so, how would I word and introduce the waiver / contract without making it sound too crazy that the agency wouldn't go for it?

Thanks

Are you going to make a financial profit out of this?

No. I doubt I will even make a penny at this time.

It seems to me you are overly complicating the process. Just make the offer to the agency that you will do the session. Then ask that the ultimate recipient, or their legal guardian sign a model release. Just use a standard contract, if you have one.

I don't have one as I've never photographed a model before.

The agency is ready to go for this. The person that is handling this is someone I graduated high school with so there is more of a personal connection.

I guess time to google model contracts.

There are plenty of sample model releases available online, just copy and customize as needed.

Sounds like you plan to use the photos in the future for profit, either as stock photos or some other project.

If this is the case you will want model releases and you will want to make sure you have assigned the rights correctly to the agency or you may not retain rights to the photos.

I am not offering legal advice but just a couple of suggestions for you to look into.
