Night Heron Flight

It's not very often that I see adult Night Herons(Black or Yellow-crpowned) here, let alone in flight with nice light. This bird was flying over the salt marsh. I wish it had banked a bit more for a full dorsal shot but I'm happy just to have one.

Certainly is a great shot being in flight ! Is this with your 500mm ? You got your lens just in time if I'm not mistaken . They are nearly double the price nowadays . They have certainly grown out of my reach .

Ron, yes the 500. It's the only lens I use anymore. I got mine about 5 years ago, I don't see an upgrade in my future. I feel fortunate to have what I do and it serves my purposes well.
