I'm really wanting to purchase an EOS-M for upcoming family trips where I don't want to take my 6D and bag o' lenses. Of course, here in NA, the EOS-M is discontinued, and sites like B&H only carry the "import" option. They're a steal IMO at $311 USD, but what kind of warranty, if any, do one of these import items carry? I just don't want to be out that kind of money should my shiny new camera crap the bed prematurely.

under the Q+A, B&H says the $311 camera/lens kit has the Canon 1 year warranty. The product page does not say import. You can always call B&H to confirm.

I've been looking at this too.

All Canon cameras are imported. You get a one year warranty with the EOS-M even though its discontinued.

Though they are all imported, there are differing ways to import. A US camera will carry a full Canon warranty and a gray market import will carry a retailer warranty, in this case B&H. Same camera but if something goes wrong, it's a different repair process. From B&H I wouldn't worry too much as I've heard nothing but good things about their support but from other less reputable retailers getting support could be tricky.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

With B&H you can rest peacefully.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. B&H does not list this as an "import" which means gray market (no US warranty). So the assumption is that this has US warranty and I still recommend a call to B&H to confirm.

The same is available at Adorama (http://www.adorama.com/ICAMK.html (external link)) for $311. According to "What's included" the package has a "kit warranty card".

Newegg also has the camera (but secondary seller) until 9/13 (http://www.newegg.com …aspx?Item=N82E16830120632 (external link)) at $299 and if you scroll down it says a Canon warranty.
