Because the pose isnt natural, you are left to wonder why she is on her knees with her hand on the track. Not all poses have to be natural, but when they arent then there should be something alluring or intrigueing happening and I dont get that here. Generally you dont want to shoot upward at someone with a rounded face. On a positive note youve done well with the exposure and mood.

It's illegal and it's cliche. The dutch tilt is also cliche. The pose is uncomfortable to look at. I can only imagine how uncomfortable it is for her. She looks so uncomfomfortable having to awkwardly lean on the rail and protrude her neck up like that. Looking at how her hair is laying against her head and the shine on her face, she appears uncomfortably warm too. Let's end this disaster with a bad pun, the crop choice is a trainwreck.

With better direction, this young lady is capable of pulling off a better portrait. She deserves better than what she got from the photographer this time. I hope that you are able to learn and improve, and can give her a nicer keepsake in the future. Thank her for her patience and keep practicing. It's my niece so she got it for free

I think you miss the point. Train tracks are as cliche as selective color, and friends dont ket friends use selective color. On another note. She really needs to stop doing the selfie pose. Turning her face away and then raising her chin makes her look larger. If possible take a shor of her from slightly above it will give her a stronger chin, and you can show off her assests in a more flattering way.

Sep 10, 2014 18:00 | #13 I disagree with the others critiquing the pose. I think she looks self-confident - not uncomfortable at all. I also disagree with the RR-track complaint as cliche. Sunsets are certainly cliche by the same reasoning; but I imagine we'll continue to see them well into the future. -- Image Editing OK --

I'm mainly here for the snacks

You seem to be active here, and I checked out some of your work, which from what I seen I liked - how about some links to pictures that you have done that would help me a lot more then short responses?
