So sorry for your loss Brad. A wonderful tribute to Hunter, a true hunting retriever.

yes it tough to cope with the loss of a mate - they never really complain just always there with you and something special about hunter I would say so very sorry for your pain but sadly we out live them by a long way - I consider my self a reasonably resilient man but when I lose one of my 4 legged mates I dissolve into tears - cant help it !!!

wish you the very best
rob

I have a companion named Bandy. He so gentle, funny and loving. Sadly, due to his age and health
issues he could leave us at any time just like his brother did. For three years since his brother died
(Patches) I have been writing to him every Thursday, the day he passed.

I choose to believe those we love are not gone but only separated from us temporarily. Regarding our loving companions like Hunter and Patches and I'm afraid Bandy also we shall have a joyious
reunion at Rainbow Bridge. This I choose to believe.

May God Bless you and Hunter.

Steve

I'm very sorry to hear that. My poor puppy went through the same thing (low blood sugar and seizures) when his time was up a decade ago. Best friend I've ever had. I'll tell him to show Hunter around the great sunny meadow in the sky.

Sorry for your loss, but thanks for sharing.
We lost a cat last week that had been a member of our family for almost 16 years. Never easy.

I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. May he rest in peace, and may you cherish fond memories of him forever. All pet lovers have walked in your path, or will. We're all in this together.

I am so sorry for your loss. What a beautiful story. He lived a long, fulfilling, and happy life with you and as was said a page back, that's all a dog can hope for.

RIP pup.

My turn is coming soon. Brought home an English Springer Spaniel at 6 week old, he now 14 yo. We've been through a lot together. He's had a great life so when the time comes I will only be sad for me.

Short of losing a child to a premature death, there is no loss like that of a beloved dog. As each day passes and my Golden Retriever Dog, now almost 12, ages more, I find myself dreading the day of her dying. Even so, as Steve noted earlier: I too also choose to believe in Rainbow Bridge and look eagerly forward to the day that I'll once again encounter my GRD's, Banker, Mozart and Emma. RIP, Hunter.

We will remember them.
