b&w of Istanbul

Hallo everybody!
I'd like to have this photo of Istanbul printed but I wanted a black and white version of it.
This is the original

I definitely like the BW better than the color. But I think I would lose some of the bottom of the image as it is not adding to the composition of the cityscape.
I would probably cut it off right above the boat on the shoreline on the left getting rid of the bridge, water and boats. But that is just my thought on it.

I think I can see that as a sepia tone with a bit of a dark vignette.

The sky doesn't do much for the shot, might try cropping in from the top but keeping the same aspect ratio. Would bring out mor detail in the buildings too.

The top/bottom halves are not in register? And it looks more like gray & white to me.

@sirquack: I wouldn't cut the bridge as it is a landmark of Istanbul (Galata bridge)

@he's gone: I'll try cutting a bit of the sky, you're right, it doesn't add much apart from keeping the shot "balanced", 1/3 sky and 2/3 cityscape

@PhotosGuy: I don't get what you mean by "The top/bottom halves are not in register?" do you mean the horizon is off? ...sorry but English is not my language...I'll try putting a bit more black instead of gray

I am from Istanbul and Color version looks much better to me. You captured a great detail of light and shadows over the Mosque and houses.

"Not in register" means that the images don't line line up. If you don't see that, it could be a problem with my download.
I did notice that it's a AdobeRGB file, while it's best for most people to view if it's sRGB. AdobeRGB is a larger color space than sRGB & useful for editing in PS, but it shouldn't be used for web images. Adobe RGB images will appear dull and washed out in a non color managed application like old versions of Internet Explorer.

They line up perfectly for me. Both shots look very good. You have to decide which you prefer. Either choice is a winner.

Definitely your download, no probs here.

Could maybe do with a touch more contrast on the b&w, but I like it regardless.

I like the color version better, nice warm light. I disagree about cropping the bridge out, sort of but not quite a leading line, but it does add another element of interest to the photo. I do think you should hack out some of the sky, it's all uniform so more of it does not add to the shot.

A square format would probably work very nicely for this image.

Now they line up for me, too. Must have been some glitch in the system.

I love the color shot! You lose the warmth of the sun in the B&W
