I said this on another forum, I'm happy with the 10fps, dual pixel sensor and the f/8 centre AF point... if it's true!

If the sensor is not significantly improved, this is a disappointment. Sounds like the same old 70D sensor so they add to differentiate so put in more AF points and faster drive speed. I do not think the 7D Mark II will drive sales and impact the market like the original 7D when it was released.

No wifi + no touchscreen = FAIL in any newly introduced camera at this day and age other than the top of the range pro cameras.

Wifi would minimize the need for a flippy screen (i.e. increase "perceived" reliability) since it can be operated remotely using a smartphone/iPad with a much larger screen.

Think new Canon lenses are overpriced? Lots (and lots) of data will set you free!

I've never really understood this line of thought. Is it because it's the same sensor size that you think it's the 70D. or that it just doesn't say "new sensor". Just curious and not saying you are wrong since personally I would think they would actually say new sensor, if it was new.

I've heard quite a few people think the actual sensor is pretty good but the process of converting the signal is what holds it back, hopefully that has been changed, but who knows.

Hey look an intervalometer, who needs a sensor :)

Wi-Fi, battery killer don't need it when you are middle of nowhere. Touch Screen again no big deal

If the body is Magnesium alloy sealed, then WiFi could be an issue.

There have been rumors some companies may soon come up with a slightly-magic complicated processes they put in that could potentially allow the user a select-able option that would control whether the wifi was on or not.

It's odd, given how old the 7D is, that there aren't more improvements. It doubly strikes me as odd that this camera lacks three of the most useful features of the 70D; touchscreen, articulated LCD, and wi-fi. Very similar to the rather pathetic upgrade Sony did with their a77 II recently.

This is, quite simply, a niche camera for those who need speed.

does RGB + IR photometry sensor mean it will do IR photos without a mod?

that would be pretty cool.
