Canon G7X??

Would love to see the specs.

If it really is about the size of an S100 series, that would be an exciting development. Even Sony's RX100 series is getting a tad too big to be truly pocketable, and the S100 series is noticeably smaller and more pocketable than even the RX100 MK1.

But to be that small, I'd have to imagine there's gonna be some compromise on the lens. I'd expect something like a f/2-f/5.6 24-75 equivalent that gets slow really fast as you zoom. Otherwise, I don't know how you'd cram a 1 inch sensor and keep the camera the same size as the S series. Simple physics.

It's nice to finally see some competition to the RX100 series (along with the Panasonic LX100) but something tells me this will be priced way too high at launch like many of Canon's recent releases. I hope I'm wrong.

Whoa, I was wrong about the lens specs. A 24-100 equiv with f/1.8-2.8 actually outdoes the RX100 III. That's the most exciting aspect of the specs to me. Hard to tell the actual size by the pic, but if it comes in smaller than the RX100, that would be a very interesting camera. But the price will probably be ridiculously high at launch.

I own both the RX100 and the S110 (wife's camera), and while the RX100's sensor is clearly superior, I feel like the S110's lens actually performs a bit better. So I'm really interested in this new camera and how the pics look.

I really like that its touch screen that seperates it from the others. But with the new panasonic lx100 specs that are being leaked it kills the competition and any other camera in the category. I will pre order asap.

Yea, if this G7X comes in at the same price as the LX100, it's going to be a non-starter. It needs to be a cheaper and smaller alternative.

Considering the G1X and G1X mk II came out with the initial pricing around $800, I would think the G7X would price slightly lower by $100-$200, probably around $600-$700. But that's just my guess. The thing that worry me is the AF speed. I own the original G1X and I feel like I wanna throw it away almost every time I shoot with it. That RX100 mk III AF speed, 10fps and EVF look very appealing to me. If the G7X can't match or very close to it(at least minus the EVF) then I don't think I would want it. If the AF is good and it can get say around 8-10fps then that is interesting.

PS: the tilt screen and ND filter is quite beneficial also. So the few extra cost on better camera maybe worth it.

I just went to the Canon USA site to look at what is offered in the Power Shot cameras and the link won't work for the Power Shot line. All other links work, just not the Power Shot link. Does that mean anything? Could they be revising that particular link?

I would have to disagree, they are basically the same size, as seen below.I had a s100, currently have a sony rx100, the canon sxxx does not come close in performance and iq.

I don't consider 33% thicker to be basically the same size, but that's just my opinion I guess.

Yea, 33% sound like a lot if your talking something big, in this case it's 9mm's.

The G7 X has better specs than the lx100, unless you are being fooled that ultra HD video is useful. lx100 has a shorter lens, fewer pixels and will cost $900

I currently have both, and personally the size difference is quite noticeable.
