It was slow to start, but warmed up nicely. And the weather cooperated!

Very nice! hard to believe your weather is cool enough; we are having record breaking heat this week. 102-105! And with the severe drought we are in, the fires are bad.

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

Thanks Maureen! At least the sky was clear. In the past week we had low temps of around freezing, with some frost, but tonight isn't as cold.....around +8C, or 46F.

Great job Ian. I saw that there was a pretty good chance to see the Lights this weekend. I would like to see the Aurora Borealis some day.

Thanks Brad....last night was our only chance, as tonight is supposed to be cloudy and rainy, so I figured I'd better get out and see it for the first time in my life....it didn't disappoint!

Good captures..

There was a large solar flare on the 9th so I had my camera mounted on the tripod and sitting by the back door over the last two nights expecting to see a good display. Unfortunately, nothing much appeared.

Thanks Jim. This was all over the news so I went down to the beach to wait. The aurora was slow to build, but it finally did and was well worth the wait. Mind you, I had a cute female photographer beside me so that sure helped pass the time :).
