I just read a 7dii vs Nx1 comparison on a website. Funny I know, two cameras that don't exist yet. The source seem fairly sure about the specs. This new Samsung looks great. I would have never considered Samsung before, but maybe now.

Anyone understand what this isotech sensor is all about?

I like the specs but I really wish they didn't go the "same as" route with a DSLR body design. Oh well.

Samsung is serious about wanting to increase their presence in the mirrorless market but they have missed opportunities with the body tech and pricing. Releasing bodies that were too high priced for what they were compared to the competition. I've found they tend to overprice their mid to high tier models a couple of hundred dollars too high at release, which kills sales, and then the price drops about 6-8 months later to what it should have been....but by then the competition has a better product coming out.

Currently Samsung has a decent selection of consumer lenses (well priced and good to really good quality) but only 2 "pro" lenses: 85 f1.4 and 16-50 f2-2.8. They'll release a 50-150 f2.8 soon but all of those lenses are/will be @$1000, with no true flash system and zero 3rd party lens help. If you are an outdoor/daytime portrait shooter, still life shooter, or video (assuming the video quality is good) then the NX1 might prove to be a great option. I really like my NX300 kit but it is not up to professional work (a tad too slow in nearly every way). But it is a pretty awesome consumer kit.

The rumored price of the NX1? OVER $1400 EURO body only. That would kill sales before it even started so I'm hoping they can keep it closer to $1000 (maybe $1300 at launch). An $1800 price tag would put it in the same spot the NX30 found itself: being given away as a trade for old DSLRs and winding up on Ebay a day later because people wouldn't pay $999 for a camera that was about a 1 1/2 yrs behind the other mirrorless offerings from Sony/Fuji/m43 ... :/

This camera is amazing compared to its competitors!

If Samsung makes a good lens adapter system, I could see this taking off in a big way.

Samsung's issue is they made their mount too deep compared to others. No other mirrorless lenses will work, including Leica. Only DSLR lenses will work, but then you lose aperture control on anything except manual lenses. So not as adaptable as Sony, m43, or Fuji, but possible.
Samyang lenses work fine with an adapter, and Samsung has focus peaking ;) It would take considerable demand for Metabones to look at Samsung.

But yes, there are some dumb adapters out there if one wanted :)

The fact that this blows the Canon 7d2 out of the water ON PAPER doesn't make Canon look good....(but they don't care, let's be honest).

Problem with Samsung is that there aint a lot of lenses or other accessories for it.

True. No real flash system, only ONE f1.4 lens, no 3rd party lenses besides Samyang (manual focus only). Their lenses are 95% consumer aimed.

The NX1 ticks off a LOT of boxes on paper. Need to see how if functions in real life. On paper it kicks the crap out of the 7d2 even though the 7d2 will be better with tracking AF. On paper is different than real world use though ;)

The NX1 is targeted at less sophisticated photogs. I've seen how marketing can make anyone confused.

Like say a consumer comparing his Android Smartphone's 21MP camera to a 7D's 18MP camera. Consumer will make fun of you for having an expensive camera with less pixels but we photogs knows that these smartphones have smaller pixels and worst optics than a prosumer SLR.
