These are my latest of the Roseate Spoonbills that hang out just a few minutes from my home. For the past 6 years or so we've been fortunate to have a small group make this spot a routine summer stop over. This year I've seen as many as 14 at once from afar but the most I've seen up close is four.

Beautiful set Steve.
I was a bit surprised these don't have your "signature"
low angle (ground pod shots).
Still fabulous.

Thanks very much everyone, I really appreciate the nice comments.

Jeremy, unfortunately this location has an elevated area(walkway and road) next to the salt marsh. It's necessary for the rising and falling tide and to keep the visitors at a safe distance from the gators that at times feed there. Many times over the years I've wished that I could be down at water level there.

I completely understand Steve.

Time for some hip waders. hahaha. Not that you could legally get into the water.

Oh I could get into the water, I might not get out though. Marsh muck can be a trap that won't let go. Nice gator...
