Hello, so I recently brought a lexar USB 3.0 card reader. But I'm having trouble getting it to read my memory card. Sometimes it will but most times it won't. I'm not sure what the problem is. I don't have the booklet that comes with it. So I can't really read up on it. Ever have problems like this. I'm hoping someone can help me...

Have you tried a different USB cable?

I'm in Canada. Isn't that weird!

I've tried 2 different cables, I haven't tried anything with the firmware. Not too sure how it's done

Is there any chance you're on a Mac, running Mavericks? Have seen some posts out there about this very issue with several card readers, and I had it myself. I have a SIIG one that wouldn't connect either, after giving years of trouble-free service. Updated the firmware (which you have to get from Sandisk, but they use the same chipset in both readers), and it's worked without trouble since doing that.

You can download here and run. I had to do the same for my Kingston on my Mac.

SD card or CF? I have the same reader, and it works fine with CF but freezes up with certain Sandisk Extreme SD cards.

Do all your cards give you issues like this or just one in particular?

I don't know about the OP's issue, but mine was with CF cards only. The same reader would read SD cards fine. Reads CF cards after the firmware update.
