I agree. I went ahead and got the new battery grip when I pre ordered my 7D2.

Think I am going to be adding this body in the summer. It added alot of nice customizing features for the AF and others. I have been looking but I cant find it I thought I read the MFA on this body now supports adjust at different focal lengths on the lens to dial it in better.

Yes it supports MFA at 2 lengths for zoom lenses.

Does anyone know if there is a Time/Date battery in the new Mk2, or is the power for this from the main battery (LP-E6N)? I've looked through the handbook and can't find any reference to it.

I dont see why there wouldnt..I think every DSLR from canon had one. if it was on the main battery you would lose it everytime you charged your battery removing it from the camera.

There are a couple Canon models that had the battery internal and pulled power from the main to charge. I'm not sure which models though.

That is my concern about having to re-set when you change the battery. In the index at the back of 7D handbook there is a reference to the Date/Time Battery and it also shows on the System Map page. With the new 7D mk2 there is no reference to either of these in the handbook.

That sound more like capacitor than battery.

Could be a cap or a small rechargeable. In either case it's internal. I think the 600D and 60D were internal as nothing is mentioned in the user manual about them.

This is correct. I'm pretty sure that my 60D has no second battery. If it does it's not user-replaceable. I'd always assumed a capacitor.

Once you have the proper driver on the USB3 port's host, plugging USB2 into USB3 ports works fine too.

For a bootable USB, exactly how do you load drivers before the OS?
