I did a search on 28 and nothing came up but I noticed on Amazon's web page for the 7DM2 that the release date changed from November 17 to November 28.

Grrrrrr... and I was hoping they would move it the other direction ...

As far as I know, this is incorrect. Pixel size does matter. Full frame cameras with super high megapixel counts struggle a little more with noise than more moderate megapixel counts (assuming same generation technology).

Only if you do the bad thing and crop all sensors to a 1000x1000 crop and compare on your monitor. That would mean that a sensor data from a sensor with many MP will have the image enlarged much more than the sensor data from a same-size sensor with less MP. So you'll get fooled into thinking it has more noise.

A sensor with more MP will have each captured pixel printed smaller when you do a full-sensor print to the same physical paper size. So the noise from each individual pixel may be larger but will be scaled to a smaller size when you have a sensor with more MP.

So in the end - the important thing is the area of the sensor and not the pixel density. The larger area captures more photons, resulting in a print created from more photons. So the statistically measured noise of the print - and the perceived noise in the print - gets lower as the sensor size increases but basically stays the same when you increase the sensor resolution by adding more pixels.

I agree, but thats a big candidate list. I'm wondering if present 7D owners will upgrade as well.

Will most certainly upgrade; likely after they iron out the first firmware update.

The ability to shoot higher ISOs with cleaner base results will be great for those feathered friends that like to hang out in the shade or only show up toward dusk. 3200/6400 is workable but still loses a bit in processing.

If f/8 turns out to actually be a thing with this body, that's another plus for me. I often wish I could throw a 1.4x TC on the 100-400 but that's just not reliable on the current model.

10fps is certainly overkill for all but a few shooting circumstances; but, can certainly be fun to play around with ( water drops, etc).

built-in intervalometer? Yes, please! One more piece of gear that I don't have to pack/can lose in the field or provide batteries for. This and the GPS are probably reasons for the higher cap batteries, but I can live with that.

The one thing I'm hoping for that I haven't seen listed anywhere, yet, is MFA for both ends of zooms. I know it's blasphemous to a lot of people, but now that I've had the original function on the 7D I'm a fan.

^Agreed, Eric! In the PNW especially, I am looking forward to cranking up ISO with impunity, especially with lenses like the 100-400L.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

i'm pretty sure i read it has it...the 70D does, and i can't imagine they'd take that away, since it's actually useful and wouldn't be considered a gimmick

So does the 6D, so I assume it is standard now.

I know from my own experience that I'm better at buying gear than using it.

Furthermore, the gear I buy is more beautiful than the pics I take with it.

I might as well go with my strengths and buy the gear.

Well said Eric. I for one will upgrade but I will have to wait awhile. Regarding MFA a few pages back someone mentioned I think it was Cyber who mentioned that it will on both ends.

The specs on the Canon site (accessed via a link in one of these messages) say you can adjust for both ends of a zoom. I think it was Canon USA.

Don't use sales channels as your source of specifications. They have no real interest in the specifications.

I will order one of these. Looks like a perfect wildlife camera plus i can probably get away with it for wedding work. Dual cards as well. sold.

Effectively makes my 120-300 sigma a real wildlife capture machine. Thats 480MM at F/2.8 and when i slop on a 1.4 TC that gets me at 670mm. Thats some serious capture range. I now dont need a 500F/4
