Hi there, I have just purchased a Macbook Pro Retina & have downloaded the Mac version of Lightroom. Now, on Windows, Lightroom is a doddle, BUT, The Mac is frustrating me somewhat. I can download my RAW pics into iPhoto no problem. When I try to import into Lightroom here the problems start. Lightroom doesn't seem able to "See" the iPhoto files so I can't import. I have checked the "Edit in" tab for Lightroom. This works but I can then not find the files after processing.
All in all, Frustrating. Please help in laymans terms.

Kind regards, Kevin

When you say "iPhoto files" what exactly do you mean?

Do you mean the iphoto library file or do you mean the same raw files you added to your iphoto library?

My wisdom is learned from the experience of others.

Can I ask why you're importing to iPhoto and Lightroom?

Don't upload your photos to iphoto- import them into lightroom. The lightroom and iphoto catalog are not the same.

Turn off the auto import feature in iphoto, and when you connect your camera or memory card, use the import dialog in lightroom to name/save your raw files.

I am not importing to both. I want to import from the camera (5D3) into a folder that Lightroom can "see" & process as I would in Windows.

I will have a play at this. Now, when I come to export the finished pic, where should I upload to for easy access?

All sorted than you. have disabled auto import into iPhoto. Import directly into Lightroom then save to desktop. Declared chuffed.
