It's been a long time since I contributed to the thread. I was happy with the cold snap here in the midwest as it has the Des Moines river frozen over pretty well and the bald eagles are congregating at open water again. I love this time of year!
There were 2 distinctly different but equally bad shooting conditions this weekend. Saturday was grey, dark and gloomy with snow at times near blizzard conditions. Sunday was -11 F when I left home to go sit along the river, the sun was up and I thought that would make for awesome shooting, however, the river was blanketed in a 3 foot steam as the water was that much warmer than the air temp.
That being said, it was very fun and I got some keepers. Here are a few.
