Not a photo from the 7D but a photo of the 7D. Gotta get her started early! My soon to be photo buddy. She asks all the time to take pictures with the camera. I love it!

First indoor soccer game of the new year and my first time shooting soccer with the 120-300. Using a monopod was a different experience for me...more difficult than I realized as I felt kind of restricted. Had to really push the 7Dii as it was a dungeon in there...ISO 16,000.

You did a nice job with these. Wow it was dark in there.
I too find monopod quite restricting; and find them easier to use when your treat the lens as a non zoom at a fixed focal length. It will force you more into a fixed distance and easier to follow with the monopod.

Thanks! And that's a great suggestion...using the lens at a fixed focal length...at least until I get more accustomed to following the action with a monopod. I will definitely give that a try for the next game. I appreciate the advice.

Nice set. Those Puffins are fast little buggers. Where did you get these. I got some in Newfoundland but my favourites were from Maine.

Great glad you found him, in better light too.

Was he showing in the same place I suggested?

Thanks ! I got the puffins in Eiiliston and Bonavista, Newfoundland, back in July.

If anyone is thinking of going there, I highly recommend Jon Joy, of Tuckermore Discoveries. He's a great guy, who will give you a tour of the area. Lots of knowledge and he's now setting up some of his hikes specifically for photographers.

The Gannets were taken at Cape St. Mary's Ecological Preserve (southern part of the island).
