I have been thinking about a 6D for certain times due to the low light capabilities/IQ but then think I should just buy a second 7DmkII.

My thought process as well. Love my 5D iii so having the 7D ii seemed so much better than dealing with huge files and cropping them down when the 7D ii would just give me the result I wanted (extra reach-or whatever it is we are calling it) and a back up body to boot at a reasonable cost. I honestly couldn't be happier with my choice!

Im going to Cambodia later this year, unsure what to take, kind of wary of taking my 5DIII, its my bread and butter money wise. leaning towards taking my 7DII with 40-200F4L attached permanently and the X100, that way dont have to change lenses all the time That set up would weigh 2.3 kilo.

5DIII 135L and a 40 pancake would weigh 1.8 kilo

X100 and X10 less than 800gs fuji does seem more appealing

Unless it is a wildlife expedition, such as my trip to Costa Rica with the 7DII and 100-400II, when I travel to foreign lands I usually take a full frame camera with a general zoom lens. In my case it is the 6D with the 24-105 lens. That range covers about 95 percent of what I want to shoot. I am not afraid of having something happening to the camera from money standpoint as all my equipment is properly insured. The insurance is a rider to the homeowner's, about $10 premium a year per $1000 worth of equipment.

Nice! did you consider cropping tighter? I would lose the left fourth or even third of the shot.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Try renter's insurance, even though I am not sure it it works in Australia the same as in the States.
