Watching the conversation and the one really large factor I see missing is working on yourself, If you want better sharper images I found working on me far out weighed moving to a different camera. My buddy has had all those camera's this last year in a attempt to short cut to great images... It doesn't work like that unfortunately. Hand held yesterday at roughly 60 70 yards. One of a couple hundred. I was after wolves to tell you the truth. Maybe today ??

A Fox I have never seen before, only tracks in the past..

For me it was not a question of moving to another camera, but rather replacing two cameras, 7D2 and 6D, with one.

And now I am angry - I was looking for a justification of getting a new toy, and you all talked me out of it! :-)

lol I'm glad, my buddy lost well over $12,000 last year in trading in to get the perfect camera lol. Honestly the 7DII is very good once you sweet talk yourself into shooting it till you get it right. Great Images will put a bigger smile on your face..

SO I do not have a 7D MKii but I am thinking about picking one up once I see if I am selling my 6D. All this will happen when I see actual facts of what the 6Dii will offer.
This Is how it will go and yes, I need a FF and Crop.
6Dii is announced and looks perfect for my needs. Buy 6Dii and trade or sell 6D for 7Dmkii?
6Dii announced, not that great/ hoped for more.. Buy Sony FF something trade or sell 6D for 7Dii..
I really hope I am not let down by the 6Dii release..

Ron the 6D thread is going to have guys that shoot the 6D extensively.. I'm certain they are way better suited to answer 6D questions.. most every image in here is 7DII I can tell you the 6D would have missed 60% of the images I took. Its just not fast enough. The 7DII missed Images I wanted and seen in the view finder but they were in-between the ones the 7DII took. 10 frames is just not enough a handful of times a year. wishing for 20 here in Minden.

The 7D2 is a sports and wildlife camera. It has exceptional capabilities to deliver performance in these areas. The 6D has other strengths. These are complementary cameras, so you'll see a lot of people having both, myself included and using the right tool for the right job.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

I only have one tool Sam... lol. I carry one camera and use it for everything.. even landscape. But yes I agree 100% the 6D has a smig on all 2 year old canon camera's. Although they say you can use the 100-400LII for landscape I found it a bit to tight.

Absolutely! I didn't mean to suggest that the 7D2 couldn't do other things. It's just that the 6D has its own strengths that, for me, makes it worth having. For example, I wouldn't think twice about cranking up ISO to 6400 or higher on my 6D to get indoor shots where flash was not allowed. Teamspeed has shown that you can certainly get high ISO shots from the 7D2 but the 6D is unquestionably the better tool for that purpose.

For now the 7D2 with the 100-400II is my main setup, and I love it. With the exception of annual European vacation and architecture (use the 6D), wildlife is my most favorite subject.

That does look like a fairly large wolf Jeff. I have yet to photograph one though we have quite a few around here. The ones around here are not all that well received and tend not to spent much time in the open for fear of becoming a wall hanging.

Decided to photograph some wading birds this morning. Have learned so much from a friend the last 3 years.
Will be going back in the "Golden Hour" when all kinds of birds come to roost. With a flash his photos are amazing.

Can't wait..
