No where do you do that? Id love to b avle to tell 65pt to start center then track... so i can move camera around

Page 127 in the e manual. Purple AF menus, Tab 4. second from the bottom. Next one below is iTR. Factory is set to auto. Choose initial. Put the cam on AI Servo and you should see an AF point.

You will see a single black af pt outline in the vf. It will be the starting af pt. You can move it around. Place it in target and hit af to start tracking with initial point which will then switch to tracking with the 65 pts. I believe this is the 2nd option under the setting.

Thanks. Yes, I have that single AF point showing when I start tracking. And I'm currently using 65 points. But when I start tracking, it seems to start with whatever AF points it feels like. Maybe that's how it's supposed to work, I don't know.

Nope, it should start with the one that is showing.
When you turn on the I ritual af point, there are two settings to choose from besides auto. I don't know what the first one does, I use the second one.

Well more might start up with the initial one. Depends on the contrast of your subject. As soon as they do initial one stops being initial and becomes part of the 65 point array. Try moving the initial AF to the side of the viewfinder and start AF. It will start to AF in that area. Not the centre or the left. The initial AF point gets you started then just dies for a lack of better words.

I just tested it. When I start, the center AF point is outlined in black. When I press the back button to focus, a bunch of AF points off to the side are activated immediately, not the center point.

Not sure what you mean by "turn on". Where do I turn the AF point on? Isn't it already turned on?

I'll vote #1 for the lack of blue. Nice work Mahn, more patience than hunting. She stick around after this shot ?

Ya sure did John, she had no idea I was human or anything else I guess. I was trying to blend into the surrounding trees and snow pine needles and I never lowered the camera for a second .. stayed hid behind it the entire time. The wind was blowing very hard so that may have helped. I looked exactly like this as I needed the hood to cut the biting wind.

If you start with the centre AF point on target of a contrasting subject then move to reframe it AF will follow that subject through out the entire viewfinder. Mine is set to manual

once again as my last have been... SOOC... from my EyeFi Mobi straight to the app then uploaded to flicker from cell... these are just large jpg. I just dont have time to edit and tell you what.. nice lenses mean really no editing. I dont get paid to do this so it is nice to not have to edit these.. however ill have to bring into LR to do lens correction then export...

i gotta learn how to set a standard import set of settings into LR so i can just apply on import then export and be done.. fullsize pics

other cat we have.. he always looks annoyed...
