Spent the morning watching this guy stalk his breakfast. He certainly took advantage of the continuous buffet the river served up!

New Firmware Update Released Yesterday for 7D2: v.1.1.1

https://www.usa.canon.com …subtab=downloads-firmware (external link)

sorry if this was posted in this thread already

Addendum:

Firmware Version 1.1.1 mainly incorporates the following:

- Enhances reliability of communications when transferring images using Wireless File Transmitter WFT-E7 (A/B/C/D/E).

- Corrects the phenomenon of Err70 which occurs with certain combinations of settings.

Looks like this is mostly for the wireless set up, I will not be updating as my cam is performing excellent just how it is.

so I discovered a feature today on the camera I never knew about. You can set the AF for the AF-on and the * button. BUT I didnt know you can also set parameters for that function as well.
So now I have my AF-on button acting like normal. it Af whatever the mode the camera is in servo or one shot and whatever focus points I have selected.
But also you can set that function up on the * as well but if you press info as well you can set parameters for it. So now my * button is setup for AIservo, 1point expansion and tracking in the case3.
So if I am shooting in Oneshot now with my normal AF-on button my thumb is only a few mm away from the * that will get me directly into servo without having to move my eye off the subject if it starts to move.
I am sure others knew about this but I never knew you could customize the settings as well with focus mode, AF points and case#

Great feature isn't it? My AF-On is set so when I press it AI Servo and Case 2 kicks in.. My * is set so AI Servo, 65 point zone and Case 6 kick in. Canon should add more stuff to the detail set.
