Went for a walk through the swamp this morning. Almost needed ear plugs. These guys were pretty loud.

Great feature isn't it? My AF-On is set so when I press it AI Servo and Case 2 kicks in.. My * is set so AI Servo, 65 point zone and Case 6 kick in. Canon should add more stuff to the detail set.

Yea. I was using DOF button for it to swap between before but for some odd reason Canon makes it you have to hold the button in to keep it on. I wish they would have made it push and it changes modes and doesn't change back till you press again.

so I discovered a feature today on the camera I never knew about. You can set the AF for the AF-on and the * button. BUT I didnt know you can also set parameters for that function as well.
So now I have my AF-on button acting like normal. it Af whatever the mode the camera is in servo or one shot and whatever focus points I have selected.
But also you can set that function up on the * as well but if you press info as well you can set parameters for it. So now my * button is setup for AIservo, 1point expansion and tracking in the case3.
So if I am shooting in Oneshot now with my normal AF-on button my thumb is only a few mm away from the * that will get me directly into servo without having to move my eye off the subject if it starts to move.
I am sure others knew about this but I never knew you could customize the settings as well with focus mode, AF points and case#

It's a great feature! I use it in a couple of my customs but can't seem to get it to work in Tv. Not sure why. -?

few snaps from this morning... got up early for what was an underwhelming sunrise but tried my new 24 STM, and a heron was greeting the new day ~
