EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Issue ??

I notice strange ISO/exposure behaviours with my 50 STM and 7D2 versus my previous 70D...

When at wide apertures and using auto ISO in Manual - even when pointing at shadowy objects - my ISO does not respond (increase) until I am at crazy shutter speeds over 1/4000th and often the ISO only goes go ISO 125 or 160 when the shutter is at 1/8000 - yes even if pointing at shadow areas.

This seems strange compared to my 70D where ISO's would rise in a seemingly more expectant way.

So if anyone with a 50 STM can take moments to try it out or otherwise keep an eye on ISO behaviour from now on, I would appreciate it if you could comment on your observations.

Here are a few samples with mine. The upgrade from the 7D was worth every penny.

It may have been better to start a new thread with your query, this one seems to concentrate more on photos taken with the 7D2 rather than problems.

I don't have the 50mm STM and do not use auto ISO so cannot help with your query but it is quite possible that the 7D2 may have a different programming sequence to that of the 70D when it comes to auto ISO, although the figures you quote do look a bit odd.
I can't imagine it is lens related and any similar strange behaviour should show up the same with another lens, if you have another one to try, even if it is a smaller aperture.

Yes I will try my 35 f/2, thank-you ~
I have not noticed other lens issues but yeah will try the 35 f2

various shots of the sky taken this evening after a full day of rain. I found it amazing the effect that fully reducing the Clarity Slider in Lr5 gives the foreground a sort of layered or 3D effect. Its not all about sharpness with the 7D2 :-P And I think I also cranked Contrast... but the sky was indeed orange ~

Some photos from probably the last McNeese baseball that I will get to photograph this season. Don't think I will be able to make it to the conference tournament or the NCAA's if they make it.

Was Senior Day.
