Thanks – I lost a couple of potential keepers because the AF focused on the BG buildings, even though I had AF Case 2 set, which is meant to resist switching?

(Case 2: Continue to track subjects, ignoring possible obstacles)

Actually, this one was shot with me standing up through my sunroof . I am disabled (missing a leg after a disagreement with a pickup a number of years ago), so I can't run across the fields after wildlife. Everything I shoot is from my car or a wheelchair, but mostly from the car. I am fortunate that at Point Reyes, a lot of wildlife is viewable right from the road.

You fooled me. I would have sworn you were in a blind or hide of some kind, dressed in camo from head to toe and with an electronic caller playing some nice varmint calls. Again I'll say, great coyote shots. Keep up the good work.

I sometimes use my 7D Mk2, 70-200 USM f2.8 (non is) with 1.4 mk2 extender - images dont seem as sharp as they could be when I use this extender. When I remove extender and just use 70-200 the images are sharp.
Are there any issues with this combination? Is the Mk3 extender the recommended kit with the 7DMk2 & 70-200 f2.8

Thanks! My "blind" is a 2008 Honda Odyssey with around 160K miles on the clock. One of the advantages of shooting from the van is I can have 3 different cameras with three different lenses within arms reach when something pops up. While the minivan is not "cool" (I do have a nicer car), it is absolutely perfect for photography situations. Tons of cargo room and a flat floor to stand up through the sunroof when needed for a 360 view if I can't get an angel through the windows. I have also even set up a tripod in it and shot out of the side doors before.
