That first one is really fantastic, you captured a perfect moment with water going everywhere.

10 fps sure does wonders ;)

So I got the CamRanger today, hooked it to the 7D2 using the 7D2's USB cable, works like a charm. Much better than the EOS remote app for the 70D.

I got to looking at that. Its looks pretty cool. Did you look into the motorized tripod head and pt hub? Would be great for time lapses. So far how do you like it? Easy to work?

Well after an outing earlier today with the 7D2 & 500 + 1.4x, I came to the conclusion that I needed to do a little micro-adjustment to this combo. I used the dot tune method and ultimately ended up with a +7 adjustment. Seems to have made an improvement!

Results after tuning: A sorta slow 1/640, f/5.6 & ISO 12800

Very nice Dave.

Thanks John! Supposed to be sunny here tomorrow so maybe I can get the ISO back to lower altitudes. Not that it's necessary! :D

Here's a burst of a knock out from Friday night (since no one would click on the link and leave comments earlier)

Heh, no tripod head...that would require a new tripod...and the head...and, well, my photography budget has been officially shot for a while now...unless I pick up some paid work.

Very easy to work. As others have pointed out it is actually a portable wireless router that is running a customized firmware along with the app (they literally put a sticker with the cam ranger logo over the original logo). You just join the wireless network it creates on your mobile device and plug in the USB port to the camera. Lots of control options, and you don't have to have live view running to take shots which handy for some applications. With live view on (you can toggle it on from the app) touch to focus works, along with a live histogram and you can even adjust the focus or do focus stacked shots. You can also view the shots on the camera and download them in full size to your device. And it does video recording too! Much more flexible than the 70D's onboard wireless, although it is an external device.
