Got my 7Dii this week, today was the first chance I got to go out. It's a grey dreary day but I was able to see what she's capable of. I am blown away coming from the 5Dc and 6D, this is a completely different beast when it comes to things that move. I can't wait to figure out how to properly use it.

Edit- not sure why the exif is showing the 70-200 when I was using the Sigma 150-600c?

On my EXIF reader, it is actually showing the the EF 100-400 as the lens model and the Sigma 150-600 Contemporary as what my EXIF reader calls "lens". Not sure why it references both lenses, but probably due to an issue the EXIF software have identifying Sigma models.

This one I call ghosts on the stairs, its just the paint work on an old fuel tank, the ladder/stairs run around the side of the tank and I took the shot for the lined shadows but got the ghosts when I converted to black and white

moving through a flu virus, don't have the strength to lug the Sig 150-600 so the comparatively compact 55-250 IS STM took its turn.

That combo is a beast to handle. Took about 3k shots this weekend and I was feeling it.

Thank-you Larry, I pretty much only shoot at the golden hour for common birds. :-) Less common birds I take what I can get lol

Where we lease our shop our landlords own quite a bit of property in the area. Directly behind us they leased out a large office space to a dude who said he was opening a gallery . He moved in and started living in it even though it's commercial space. He then started letting a lot of randoms live in it charging 2 dollars a night and it turned into a crack den. The owners are really really nice local people and the properties have been in the family since the 60s. They started started legal proceedings late last year to get them out. The system in Australia is messed up in that it took months to get them removed by the police. They disrupted the business's underneath with considerable financial loss and caused the owners genuine heartache and worry. They got evicted today and I took some photos of it for them to go forward with. I had my 7DII in the car and a kit lens (I keep it there all the time) and used the built in pop up flash.

This is the Shambles that was left behind when they were all booted out. It's a miracle it wasn't burnt down. Believe it or not I have left out the feral images.

It's not all birds and sport with the 7DII :)

Flaming Fanfare Flashback!!!

"Flashback Friday" during player introductions at Staples Center in Los Angeles... NBA Player, Chris Paul, has contributed more to the city of LA 'off the court' than 'on the court'... His dedication to the community with time, money, and love has made him a fan favorite... I've talked with him on several occasions, before, during, and after the game and he's genuinely a down-to-earth individual... I hope and pray that he continues his efforts for the Houston Rockets, his new playing home... 7D2 + 8-15L Fisheye... ISO 800, f/5.6 @ 1/60sec...
