That's beauty for sure. I looked hard for birds or animals, but couldn't find any.

I am really noticing weight to be a problem in my old age. The 400 D0 is way lighter than the 500 and I've also used a 2X III converter on mine with good success.

Here's a shot with the 400 DO and a 2X III converter. I still had to do quite a bit of cropping. This bird was a long ways off.

Luckily Osprey are fairly cooperative, especially if they've got food, so you could easily go back to that same branch and hangout/get closer, and typically they come back to the same spot come meal time.

I give a lot to be able to get closer to this guy, but it is at a one of our state parks, and no boats are allowed on the lake, so I cannot get any closer to the island. He is there every year and hangs out at the same spot.
