Nice job on those sand martins, Lester. They've gotta be near impossible to hit in flight!!

I have both the 7d and 7d2 and there is a lot I love about the 7d2 but I swear (and maybe it is me) the tracking focus doesn't seem to be as good as the 7d. I've tried various setting to no avail. any clues to fix this issue in setting.

I would also like to go full frame but the cost of a 5dmk iv is too high and the 6d2 seems to have issues. any suggestions

I found that I have to play around with the shooting styles to get it right and also there are some times that it wont focus on certain things unless there is a real separation of contrast to the background, however when 7DII locks on its very good. To be fair I had same issue with my 7D. I have the 5DIII and get similar issues although it is slightly better than 7DII. I have not heard of the issues with 6DII so cant comment on that

thanks, the bubbles were a hassle and maybe that speaks to how good the focus is on the 7d2 dang thought i had the face locked and i guess a bubble took its time floating by screwed it all up lol

I mainly and just for fun shoot some high school sports, night football, indoor horrible lit volleyball and would love the light grabbing of a ff, for the outdoor day stuff I'm guessing the crop gives an advantage in reach and iso isn't an issue

Very nice shots of that beautiful bird. The New Holland honeyeater almost has a painted look about him. Very cool.

I don't get many opportunities at "fur" shots so even if this isn't the best shot of a mink I still thought I'd like to share it with the POTN crew.

I think it's a nice shot doc. I've only seen them a few times in the wild, and never had the opportunity to photograph one.

Thanks Mike. I’ve only seen a few in the wild myself. I got pretty excited when I saw him this morning. It was an overcast day and I wanted to dial in +1/3 exposure comp but in the heat of the moment I managed to dial in -1 2/3. The images out of the camera were badly underexposed. Camera raw helped a lot but the image still has too much noise.
