Interesting choice, Jeff. Hope it works out well for you.

Yes I can say almost all the "bad" people have toted is misunderstandings and a simple lack of good information. this first is going to shine like theres no tomorrow.. count on it lol

Thanks, I cropped out the curved light pole on the left. A little embarassed to admit I've owned this fisheye for 4 or 5 years and have only used it a few times. I think it could produce some nice shots with a little practice on my part.

Way too many cameras, lenses, tripods, and bags (especially bags, where did all these bags come from?)

For sure. That's what it's all about. If you have something that works for you then the only opinion that really counts is yours. In reality I don't think any of the major players have any 'bad' cameras anyway. Looking foreword to seeing your results and hearing your opinions on the new setup. Enjoy.

well I would not have picked that choice, mainly because of the slow frame rate, however I could not understand why people were having a cry over this camera, it was not introduced as a pro camera and to me seemed like the perfect choice for someone who already had canon lenses, bonus is the ability to use EF-S as well. To be honest I believed you would be getting a 5D4 or a Nikon D500. I look forward to seeing your images :-)

totally get that ...... I remember the amount of rubbish written about the 7DII and although you have had issues with yours, I have had none at all and the image quality is fine.

I do get that your new camera is slower frame rate but owning a fuji X100 made me think that as you are seeing the images in the electronic viewfinder you probably will not need as many frames per second as you can see and follow the action in real time and have a good chance of catching the shot anyway

I used both the sony a9 and a7rIII... gave me a chance to see what some of the best cameras on the market are all about. Being able to use my lenses and extenders with all 5655 af points and groups with zero slow down or IQ decrease was a real incentive. And as you say... those same people told us the 7DII was a problem child but I think I showed it can work when its not having a problem.. I loved mine well ... all of them at one point of another.

Not saying one or the other is right, but what made you choose / what benefits of the EOS R OVER 5Div?

Beautiful back lighting. How did you throw the light into the bird's eye?
