The history is they come into this small reserve in winter because they operate a tour boat and so keep the water ice free, the birds come as they can fish. I guess they get used to people being about. In summer they disappear as the geology is not right for the river banks they need to nest. But yes that last one was ridiculous even by the standards of the place, as long as you don't rush in.

Here is another posing on a reed in the open in December, about 20-30 feet away.
QUOTED IMAGE

Those were all from 2017 but we have been seeing them showing well from 2015. We have not been down as much in the last couple of years because of family commitments, but no reason for them not to show during winter.

Nice one Lester, Yes they still show well in the winter months, I assume we are talking about the same reserve due to you mentioning a tour boat (small) going around the reed beds.

Very attractive shot, Ah-keong! You captured the firework display at just the right moment. The colors and lights are really great.

A very nice image; if I attend an airshow and got this result, I would be very happy with it; as I assume you are. Great job.

Thank you NCSA197. I am definitely more than happy with it, and many more I got from the airshow weekend.
