A great attempt! 520mm at 1/250, not easy to hand hold. Perhaps a monopod would help if you want to keep your ISO low? But don't be afraid to bump your ISO in daylight to increase your SS :)

It was on a monopod. The motion is from me panning with him as he ran along a ridge top.

I need another lens like I need another hole in my head, but noticed that the Canon EF-S 24 was on sale for $129 so I thought why not? Makes a really nice, compact combination on the 7D2, and no complaints about performance for such an affordable lens.

The EF-S 24mm f/2.8 pancake is one of the unheralded great lenses. My favorite walk-around on both my 80D and my Fuji X-H1.
