Very good.

It appears he/she has a wisp of spider web hanging from a wing-tip and it is easily discernible.

Is that what we call river cane he is perched on ?

I have the same camera and lens; I often carry two cameras; and, depending on the situation, I will have the 50-500 either on the 7DMkII or on the 7D.

I have found that the 7DMkII will allow much closer auto-focusing with the 50-500 than the 7D will; the 7D will give up at around three or four feet; whereas, I can poke the lens right up against something with the 7DMkII.

Thank you very much! I'm sorry, but I don't know what it was perched upon. I think it was one of the species of bamboo. River cane is native to the USA, but it may have spread to India.

I just assumed the photo was in USA; in India it most likely is a species of Bamboo.

I never investigated, but I always figured our river cane was a close relative to Bamboo; they sure look alike.

River cane is a species of bamboo. I didn't know some bamboo was native to the Americas until I looked it up.

And the photos; did that cure that problem as well ?

I lost some photos (like a good flying dragonfly shot) - only because I formatted my card - figuring it was my first course of action. Using my old pc usb 2.0 ports work perfectly for transferring now, but obviously slower than usb 3.

My pci-e USB port has been acting up and cutting in and out - I tried plugging into a different usb (2) port and its dependable and working fine.

I installed USB-3.0 cards in two of our machines and then added front USB-3.0 panels that connect to the cards.

This worked fine for a long time until the USB-3.0 ports on the wife's machine just quit out of the blue.

The set-up on my personal machine is all still working fine.

Your post reminded me that I need to get the problem with the wife's machine sorted.

I used four different brands of components as this was done one piece at a time as finances allowed; I guess I need to figure out what brand I used on mine and get more of the same to fix her's.

Finally getting some tern shots. As usual a large crop due to the distance. I haven't captured a shot like this before. The beak just cutting the water. Mostly see them diving.

And the usual tern diving shots. Again big crops. Adjacent frames.

Osprey now. I like this picture for some reason. Maybe it is the separation from the background.

And not flying. A couple of frequent visitors where I go to take my eagle, osprey etc. pictures. In the second shot it looks like he might have a potato chip.

Early morning possum in the tomato plants.
ISO 16000 doesn't look bad.
