I have the Canon grip with the new LP-E6N batteries. Everything works as it should.
I took it back to the store. We tried another grip. Still didn't work. So we tried both BNIB grips on a BNIB 7D II. None of them worked. Bad batch perhaps.

Most of your shots have a centered (front back) focal plane Witt the subject in the middle. Very nice shots. Hopefully you won't have to second guess the camera any more. Enjoy. Guy Thanks Guy. I think it is slightly back focusing still besed on some shots from today but I am getting it much closer though. Second guessing is going, going... and gone. This one I was a decent bit closer. IMAGE LINK: http://s980.photobucket.com …ds/Snow-Goose-14.jpg.html And one with some back light to make it fun. AF does focus much faster on the 7D2 if you get your points over a subject, otherwise it is no faster if you have sky or water as the target.

I've turned on the switch on the side of the grip as well as the camera. Could I be overlooking something? Both batteries are the LP-E6 and are fully charged. Aressem wrote in post #17289067 Have you tested it with the old LP-E6 battery/ies? Or just the new LP-E6N? I have the grip and it works fine for me. New batteries, old batteries and third party batteries no problems. Sorry to hear you are having an issue.

Nov 23, 2014 21:02 | #2557 Got my copy yesterday from the local store (MPEX), I believe they had 3 or so bodies in stock, apparently they are still in a bit of short supply. Finally did some night shots, should have tried yesterday, but I had a few things to do in town. The Live view AF left me speechless, although I must admit that trying to figure out how to use the AF on-site, while reading the PDF manual on my iPod was hardly a good idea. If you are asking me, I borrowed a friends nifty fifty. I think my next investment will be the 85 1.8, but wouldn't you know, as soon as I buy my camera, my 17-55 quits working so now my money is going towards fixing it lol My Flickr

According to battery info, it's using both. It's been said the 7D2 can handle the old LP-E6. I don't see why the grip would be any different. Julian

However, I will never part with my 85 1.8, such a great lens. Nice shots though. I was just flying on Air Buses almost exactly like those recently. US Airways. Four flights in a week. I don't do that too often. Just visiting someone.

Tom_D Goldmember More info | Nov 23, 2014 23:06 | #2562 I was never impressed with the Nifty-Fifty on the 40D. The focus would hunt quite a bit and it was just about a manual focus lens. A pretty good manual focus lens but not used all that much. I have yet to dig it out and try it on the 7D2. Gallery
