So, yesterday, before the rain came about noon and stayed all day, we took a walk because it was in the 50s, and I saw exactly zero wildlife. GRR. I did get some good pics of my kid swinging in all points tracking servo mode, so I think at this point I can call the AF good on my copy.

How long does it take for your GPS to lock on? I tried it for the first time yesterday and it never got a solid lock on.

Awesome, Butch! I thought about going down there yesterday but stayed home to watch the NFL games instead. I'm over by San Dimas. I've done a couple of the NSSA events at Huntington, those kids can rip it up big time. A lot of fun.

Thanks people, In the snow is where I shoot the most it seems so I guess I have a little edge for the light. My 7D showed me the way to light in the darkness

I am still dialing in the 500 with The II. I still think there's a slight front focusing going on. I may up it by +2 to see how it goes.

The II (1.6 crop factor) and 500 is too long for football causing me to miss some TD shots. So, I will use the 300 2.8, with and without the 1.4x, this weekend, which should be a perfect setup.

Nice sequence. The 10fps is great. While I was doing some testing I was waiting in the car to warm up and a fellow on a bike rode past me. Since his back was to me I rattled off a series. It locked instantly and tracked well even through my windshield. The windshield prevented crisp images but it still showed how fast it locks on.

A few game photos from Saturday. Nothing really outstanding.

Love this one... Rim light, as well as the mist being lit by the sun are great...

Although I mostly shoot birds ( non about today ) I did get this Chinook as it flew passed.
