I'd still like to know what the mAh rating is on the new LP-E6N battery. The specs aren't available on the Canon US or the Canon Europe site.

If any of you who are in possession of the 7D Mk ii would check, I'd appreciate it.

GIYF - "The Canon LP-E6N Battery, introduced with the Canon EOS 7D Mark II, is a replacement for the Canon LP-E6 Battery. These batteries are forward and backward compatible with the "N" version having an additional 65 mAh of storage capacity (1865 mAh vs. 1800 mAh) to its advantage." From

Thanks, stsva and Tom......

I forgot to RTFM.... of course, I don't have the camera on order yet. ;)

The reason I'm so interested is the LP-E6s I get from Sterlingtek are 2600 mAh... and have kept their charge characteristics far longer than my original Canon batteries.

I can't believe that the only advantage is 65 more mAh, it must do something else. I wonder if the output is the same.

I haven't gotten a new camera since the 40D but my thinking is to stay with Canon at least till the camera is out of warranty. I have used Sterlingtek and had less long term problems than with Canon batteries but I just don't want to take a chance on a new camera.

Tom,

That makes sense.

Keyan,

I couldn't get the voltage rating from the Sterlingtek site. I'll just wait until I get my 7D Mk ii and go from there, but I suspect I'll buy an additional Canon battery to start for the battery grip as Tom suggested.

I got a free battery with my kit from Adorama, it is on back order but will show up eventually. I can use my LP-E6 from the 70D for now.
