I've never had to do this with any of my Nikon cameras. This is SOC with cropping only from my D810 ![]() I'd say it's alright, but nothing to die for. Maybe a more challenging subject would be better. Gear

(2 edits in all) | Dec 01, 2014 17:37 | #2887 While POTN was being reborn I did some work dialing in my 400mm f/5.6, ending up with +3 microadjustment (changed to +2 after these shots were taken). I think it's pretty close now. The first image also shows the benefits of using spot AF. Image hosted by forum (700734) © stsva [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Let me know what the population is like up there I'd love to drag the body up there, but won't be able to roll until mid-Dec.------------- Due to the Skagit River being at dangerous floodstage, the Saturday guided river boat trip got cancelled, by the guide. So my friend and I went up on our own, to the Skagit Nature Preserve. Got lots of Redtail Hawks, and a few Short Eared Owls. Then we went up to my favorite spot in Rockport near where we would have met the guide. Just on the south side of the river. Holy crap! there was anywhere between 20-30 eagles feeding on the gravel bar on the opposite river bank. In the trees on the opposite side, we could see 40-50 white dots, which was more eagles. So yeah, there are a lot up there. They stopped feeding and left the area about 12:30 so I would plan on early morning. I left with about 2300 shots. Towards the end, we were getting really picky about what we shot. Just flying by? Nah, not interesting. Fighting in mid air over a salmon, okay that's worth getting shooting. I'll post a few once I get them processed. --------------- IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/qebuVm IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/pYU4mJ (DUPLICATE IMAGE) Canon EOS R5, R, 7D mkII, 6D
