Haha. Well, my CONSISTENCY needs improving. My shots need to be this sharp (or sharper) more often. That's what I'm trying to figure out. hehe :)

I think I would want to be using at least a 100-400 lens to be taking the photos of that tiger snake rather than using a macro lens. Is this species of the tiger snake one of those with a venom that is extremely likely to cause death when someone is bitten?

Beautiful snake and love the brilliant coloring of the black tongue.

Thanks NoGo. Yes, it's one of those very venomous snakes that can kill a person, I usually use the 100-400 to photograph them, but yesterday there were two of us and the weather was quite cold so the snakes were quite lethargic. This one was a juvenile (no less venomous though) and was pretty placid so I put away the 100-400 and got the Macro out. Glad I did, as very pleased with shots I got. With the second person there they could keep an eye on the snake and distract it with a branch if it started to get too feisty. This one though was fine and when he did warm up a little as the sun came up we left him alone and he slowly went on his way.

Cheers
Gus

Check the College Softball Thread in the Sports Photos. I added the exif to these and a couple more there and it forum won't let me add it again here. I get a duplicate type message.
