Heh, I haven't posted a shot from it in a while. I had it out in the snow with my kids and the neighbors sledding off the hill from our driveway and it tracked great.

I'll be going on vacation here soon and will probably be posting up some shots.

Thank you Jeff! I don't think you need a white bird with a stick though...you have a trained fox. Just have it fetch a few for ya!

I have found I am barely doing ANYTHING in LR.. soccer was mainly SOOC but cropped to my liking..

As I've said a few times, I'm running out compliments that don't sound forced. Both the fox and pine marten are looking fine. Your photographs convey the joy you must feel when you see them.....and when you look at the photographs they provide.

It's looks to me like you've more than just begun to get the hang of the 7D2. Very nice.

I second what Jeff said. You are making the 7D2 and your 500 f/4 shine.... the 1.4X doesn't seem to reduce the IQ at all, at least from here.

These are only comments on the excellent photographs on this page alone. I'm glad to see so many of us having so much fun with the 7D2.

I guess Im doing my job if it looks like I have the animal kingdom under my spell,... I do get alot of that, But I do shoot a ton when I get in a situation where there is an animal in front of me. Last night I spent time with three fox and 22 deer, I missed the otter he went past me by 10 mins, ..and in an 1 1/2 drive home... all from 4:30pm to dark lol .. so.. not much time but a lot of game. don't ask how many images I took. I can post for a while.

Just programmed my DOF button for All 65 points, now trying to remember why I thought that might be necessary---Hail Mary maybe?

I can tell you why I might want to do that myself. I often shoot bicycle races. Most of the time, I am taking a photo of a single rider using the center point or a point above center point. At times, this causes problems when I try to get two riders side by side. When they get close, using center point will cause you to miss focus on both riders. The focal point will fall between them and with them going 20 miles per hour or faster, there is just no way to focus and recompose. All 65 or all cross type points will allow you to at least get one of them in focus. That is unless you get a part of the landscape instead.

I have mine toggle between AI Servo and One shot - it's super useful.

I also have another button (the *) I think set to toggle to my alternate shooting mode, I have it set up (actually I need to set it up again after a settings clear) for action shooting, i.e. I am doing something else and a bird flies by, it sets the camera to small center zone AI servo at 1/2000.

interesting you can set a button to do more than 1 thing?

I did have my DOF button setup for ai servo to one shot.. but switched it over to * button. Love it... so doing sports i shoot away.. but if it is stand still stuff.. I can hold * and lock on to what i want...

also i couldnt get 65point af to lock on what i wanted it too in soccer so i set it up to the middle zone. much better.. but now i know next time if they are going left to right switch to left block so i can crop that way vs just everything being centered...
