I did have my DOF button setup for ai servo to one shot.. but switched it over to * button. Love it... so doing sports i shoot away.. but if it is stand still stuff.. I can hold * and lock on to what i want...

also i couldnt get 65point af to lock on what i wanted it too in soccer so i set it up to the middle zone. much better.. but now i know next time if they are going left to right switch to left block so i can crop that way vs just everything being centered...

It is a nice function. Remember that you can also set up the buttons differently in the custom modes. For example, my DOF preview button is set for AI Servo - One Shot everywhere except in one custom mode (in my case mode 2) that I use exclusively for AI Servo wildlife shooting. In that mode I have the DOF Preview button set up to change my shooting mode.

Yeah, that is one thing I wish you could set in the settings, the ability to toggle on/off a feature instead of just press and hold and on release it reverts back. I guess it prevents an accidental button press from changing your settings for setting changes that normally take two or more actions to perform.

I see you had the1Dx and the 7D11 at the track. What lens do you like to keep on each one?

varies but mainly 70-200 on the 1DX for lower light pit work and 400 f5.6 on the crop as i cant afford a 600mm and wouldnt want to lug one round all day if i could

Thats about what i planned on. Put the 16 to 35mm in a pocket for a pit walk or winers circle and the 70 to 200 on the FF for panning and closer and the 200 to 400 zoom on the 7Dii. I have not had the 7Dii at the track yet.

Carry a 17-40 in one pocket and a 580 EXII in the other, 1DX with 70-200 over shoulder and the 7D MKII with the 400 f5.6 on a black rapid strap and find that i dont want for anything with that kit as go from 17mm ff up to a 640mm on the crop and light enough to carry round track all day.

Another Great Egret shot with the old 100-300mm f/4-5.6 and a MAJOR crop. Pretty soft overall.

I really envy all the motorcycle events you have over in the UK.There is only one event in my area all year.I really hope to get over there and check out the TT one day.
