Methodical I forgot to thank you for the better BEAMER image. The lens you couple with it is ever so sweet.

I know the feeling about "another hobby." Between this, my road bike and my Cobra I am all hobbied out. Oh, but I like it.

Shame. The vignette totally kills these images IMHO.

I apologize for the previous post, I thought I was embedding the images but instead link appeared.
here they are embedded.
---------------
First game out with new 7dii. Some of these guys still fly even without wings. Most shots ISO 6400-12800, 24-70f2.8 II, f2.8 and ~1/640. (most had to be PP at least 1/3 stop or more due to auto ISO and bright green unis). I had lens correction enabled so lost Af point display data. Lens was mfa'ed.

Case 2 details was having trouble keeping up with oncoming running droves and layups unlike my 7d (v1). First/second priority=focus. I tried a few adjust, ends and wound up with +1 Tack sensitivity, and +1 accel/Decel with single point Af. I don't feel I got as high of a keeper rate yet.

Suggestions would be appreciated. I would prefer less sensitivity for times I fall off target momentarily. What ever I wind up with needs to work for nonmoving target too, like on 7dc. The lens distortion correction worked well at wide angle.

Here are 8 shots:

A few photos from the last home games of the year. A Saturday doubleheader.

Note: Photos 1 & 6 were taken with a 2x extender III on the lens. The ISO in photo 5 was actually taken at ISO 16000 not 12500 but there is no option for 16000 in the ISO drop down box when adding the metadata.

Doc-

Nice shots! If you don't mind sharing (or if you have previously, I apologize), what have you found to be the most effective AF case settings for baseball? Thanks!!

I've bounced around trying various cases right after I got the 7DII during football and basketball. I eventually settled on Case 1 with the tracking sensitivity turned all the way down. I've stuck with that for baseball. Seems to work well for me.

I just have to make sure I take enough time to get the focus point (I use one point expanded to 9) on the player before I hit the back button focus. The 7D II focuses so fast if I'm too quick with the focus button before I am on the player, the camera will focus on the background or somewhere else and, since the tracking sensitivity is turned down it will never get on the player. And, if I'm shooting a burst, none of the following photos in the burst will be in focus because the camera is trying to stay on the background ignoring the player.

Thanks! The settings can be a bit overwhelming based on each shooting scenario. I see a lot of trial and error in my future but clearly you have worked through that already.
