Jeff,
I just checked, you are only a 10 1/2 hour drive from
the Chicago area: -) tempting, but too much for a weekend. :-(

Had this large air creature fly by at lunch. Thankfully, it was flying at my preferred ability to catch something in flight. It is in town for a race a little east of here this weekend. literally SOOC. I don't have any editing software here at work.

Yes I have done the stretch before and Chicago is a bit of a drive. I know there have been many that have wanted to come for a shoot. I may have to seriously take a look at that.

7D II + Canon 10-18mm at ISO 10,000 at a hip-hop dance battle. I was primarily shooting with my 7Dc + Sigma 18-35 f/1.8, but when I saw this guy goin' ham, I was quick to reach for my 7D II on the floor in front of me (I was sitting on the floor), tilt the camera back towards me, aiming up, and rattle off a few frames and 10 FPS. Quite honestly.. I got really lucky with this one. I would love some feedback/constructive criticism though - let me hear it!

Fantastic shot. ISO 10,000? That's the kind of grain we used to get with ASA 800 film.

Hey - thank you! Yes, ISO 10,000. I had no choice because this lens is not the fastest. Minimum aperture of f/4.5 which I'm pretty sure I was shooting at, at the time. And a shutter speed of 1/500 (I'm guessing. I'm at work; can't see EXIF right now).

Yup. I was just hoping to get some CC as I'm contemplating putting it up on my website. I'm considering going B+W with it. What do you think?

10,000 ISO. Insane. I generally avoid going over 1600 ISO, maybe 3200 ISO in a pinch, on my 7D. I need this camera.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

i like the photo a lot. Not sure if you processed it for higher contrast, but the grittyness (grain) and the higher contrast (darker darks) add to it. I would consider processing the dancers face a bit to raise the shadows and let us see his face. I think you can post both versions on your website, color and B&W. Wouldn't mind seeing the reprocessed version.
