But the extra reach is nothing, I never understood the hype of Crop Vs Full Frame Reach. I went from a 70D to a 6D and i will gladly say the reach difference is like half a inch on the image, I even put a 1.4x Extender on the 70D and the difference is again, hardly anything and for what it cost ($500), it's a waste of money.

I thought about getting the 7D Mark II for Wildlife but i might just keep the 6D as Image Quality will be better. But i do want to see RAW samples at High ISO, It's looking like the 70D ISO performance but it might be a stop better.

If you've never understood the hype of the "reach", then you've never been reach-limited. Because it does make a huge difference. Other environmental factors can still come in play to ruin your image (atmospheric haze, heat distortion, etc...), but the advantage of higher density pixels can't be denied given the right conditions.

If this wasn't true, then there would be no point for Sony to make a 36mp sensor (which crops down to 16mp).

I preordered. Will keep my 6D for landscapes and the shorter lenses. I'm most excited about the AF.

I find it hilarious and frankly a pathetic commentary on the geekness of this group (myself included), that there's 4+pages in the sample photos thread and the camera is 2 months out of reach!
I'm likely going in the doghouse over this one, but it may be worth it. So far I love the specs. Hopefully it won't have the soft or missed focus issues at f2.8 or wider like some 70d's have had.

I reach my limit everyday when i go out and do Wildlife Photography. I'm not disagreeing but also take note that bigger MP Sensors require really good glass to take advantage of all 36 MP. More MP is not always a good thing either. The point of my post is Crop Bodies/Extenders are pointless if your goal is more reach. The Difference is Minimal compared to Full Frame therefore your better off with Full Frame because you hold more Detail in the Images which will Crop better than a Crop Sensor Camera. Your just Cropping the image even more lol

At $1799, this camera isn't designed to be your entry-level crop camera. And I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of birders/wildlife photographers, with the 400, 500, 600, and 800mm lenses pick up the 7D2 for the additional features. There are folks out there with good glass that can take advantage of the pixel density. And those without, well, it's just another image that their camera's taking, isn't it?

by the time any of you get your hands on 7D2 (not before 15th of November = 60 days) this thread will have such meaningless ballast, if will be worth making another thread. how about moderators delete this thread and lets wait for 7D2 to actually hit the shelfs?

Why are you so upset over the existence of this thread? A simple ignore would have sufficed. Instead, you felt compelled to add to our apparently "meaningless ballast".

Is there any info about the AA filter in the 7DII?

This extra reach gives you huge advantage in highISO shooting especially.
FF is good, if you don´t cropping at all.

7DmkII ISO6400 with 200mm no crop will look much better than heavy cropping on FF to achieve the same FOV.

You said pure nonsence... If you crop the FF image to achieve the same picture from crop, you just lose that FF advantage...

You can use 2x extender on 7dmkII with additional 1.6 crop factor, so still, FF has 1.6x disadvantage.

and you knew noone will own a 7D2 until mid of november, yet you felt a need to open yet another topic about it, which generally has another purpose than speaking about the 7D2, but for the next 60 days or so, it will be another "general discussion about newly announced 7D2", probably about 15th or 20th thread in a row.

It's been 5 years since the original 7D was announced. There will be excitement. Embrace it or ignore it. Same will happen with the next 1DX2(or whatever they call it announcement). Same will happen with the next 5D4 announcement.

It's a lot easier for you to not click AND post in those threads than to demand the internet revolve around you.

For those in Toronto, Canada, Aden Camera has a deal where if you pre order the 7D2, you can buy the 24-70 F4 IS for $400. I had initially really wanted the D750, but really thinking about it, I love my Canon stuff too much. I'll be pre ordering the 7D2 tomorrow!
