Okay... so I'm messing around & taking a few shots & for some reason my focus points don't seem to light up, at least I can't see it. Pretty sure, if I remember correctly, in AI Servo there's no beep, but the focus points should light up. I see it very faintly when I focus on fairly dark objects that are far away... What am I missing? OK... Nevermind! Thought I downloaded the full pdf manual & couldn't find any info, found what I was looking for in the REAL manual! Now back to reading it!

These are both great shots, but #2 is just awesome!

Does the 7D have any built in manual focus aids? I know it's kinda ironic to ask for this body, but I have a ton of manual focus glass and I got adapters in today.

Can you do Live View, with 10x magnified view?

That old glass hobbles the 7D.

I was hoping for stuff like focus peaking and magic zoom.

It's not all old glass, half of them are modern samyang made lenses.

Thanks! I personally like the first one simply because I didn't even notice the wasp in the frame until I was flipping through them on my computer. He just snuck in there while I was waiting for the tiger butterfly to jump off. :p

The perfect compliment to my combo.........my new bird table and basket. Considering that it's less than 100 metres from a railway track, I'm well pleased. Why the basket? There's a large hole round the back and it holds fruit for the possums, and the lorikkets if they want it. I think I need to set up a hide 'cause as soon as I open the pergola doors, they're gone!

Bidkev,
Where did the focus points fall for these three shots? While the colors are great the focal plane and thin dof is falling short of the eyes, more on basket edge.

Spot focus on the eye. Other focus options disabled. I seem to be having issues atm which are much more severe today but I don't know if it's my unsteady hand or the focus issues mentioned in the 7Dmkll focus thread. I had doubts about these but rosella pics always seem somewhat fuzzy to me so I posted anyway. I noticed the basket is pin sharp though and there was a bit of a swing in it at the time so that may account as i recomposed after being on the eye.

I performed terribly this morning. Please see here: https://photography-on-the.net …ad.php?t=1406704&page=219

It appears you need to mfa this combo. Remer to mfa short and long Tele ends. Then repeat again with TC.
You can try in the field as well, adding an extra +10 value is often needed with the TC.

Thanks, but already done on all my lenses with and without converter and at both ends. I used Focal

If I fail to improve, I'll re-check MFA

McNeese State University unveiled the camouflage jersey they are going to wear for Military Appreciation Night the first home game.

I went out and shot a little of it. Of all the shots, I took, these are my two favorites.
