Still playin' around with the YN622C's but due to the batteries dying, this one exposed without firing the flash. I've only just noticed how little noise there is with long exposured compared to earlier digital cameras. My old fuji s5800 had the pics practically unusable at anything over 2 sec

No kidding Dave, I was doing some night stuff last week and really its amazing.

It's so good, the camera never fails to impress me.

I had a Sigma 18-35 1.8 on hire for a wedding I was attending & couldn't really use a flash, so I ramped the ISO up & couldn't believe how good the results were.

Firmware Version 1.0.5 incorporates the following fixes and improvements:

1. Improves AF accuracy when used in combination with the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM lens or EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM lens.
2. Fixes a phenomenon in which, in very rare cases, the "Peripheral illumination correction" is applied inconsistently.
3. Fixes a phenomenon in which, while performing an EF lens firmware update, the progress bar displayed on the LCD monitor may freeze at 100% even though the update has been completed.
4. Fixes a processing error in relation to the leap second for the "Geotag information appended to image" and "Log data" GPS functions.
5. Fixes a phenomenon, where at the time of shooting in very rare cases "Err 70" occurs, or the shutter does not release.

Please note:
After updating the firmware, you should reconfirm any AF Microadjustment you may have set for your EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM or EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM lens.

Firmware Version 1.0.5 is for cameras with Firmware Version 1.0.4 or earlier. If the camera's firmware is already Version 1.0.5, it is not necessary to update the firmware.

When updating the firmware of the camera, please review the instructions thoroughly before you download the firmware.

1. After the downloaded compressed file (.dmg file) is extracted, a disk image of the firmware is mounted.

2. The mounted disk image contains the firmware (File name: 7D200105.FIR, File size: 29,838,240 bytes) and instructions on the firmware update procedures (a PDF file in five languages: Japanese, English, French, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese).

Before starting the firmware update operations, please confirm the contents of the download, and carefully read through the firmware update procedures.

(Previous) Version 1.0.4 improvements:

1. Fixes a phenomenon whereby the AF does not operate properly at a focal length of about 100 mm when used in combination with an EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM lens.
2. Fixes a phenomenon in the AI servo AF whereby, in rare cases, a reduction in the flicker effect cannot be obtained when Flicker Reduction is set to "On".
3. Fixes a phenomenon whereby the Picture Style settings are not reflected properly in custom shooting mode (C1/C2/C3).
4. Fixes a phenomenon whereby, in very rare cases, the shooting date/time in the shooting information of the first picture is not recorded correctly.
5. Fixes a phenomenon whereby, in very rare cases, when brightness or contrast is automatically corrected by the Auto Lighting Optimizer function, there is noise in JPEG images.

I've lurked on the forums here for some time and been amazed at the images posted here. I took my 7D2 and tamron 150-600 to Wyoming this past June and I'll share a couple photos here. C&C welcome.

Lots of wind out there today and swayin' branches so no birding. Bored to hell so still playin' to alleviate.

This is my old geography teacher. He used to enter the room with a huge smile on his face, say good morning, and then turn his back, switch on the light over the blackboard, and commence scribblin'. He could scribble faster than most teachers could dictate and we hated him for it. If anyone asked him to slow down, he would whirl around and throw the chalk at him. If you were unlucky, he had the blackboard ereaser in his hand and you copped for that along with it's accompanying bruise and occasionally blood. How times have changed!

He was as bald as a coot apart for about 4 strands of hair that stuck up on top and a few sticking out at the sides. Based on that, we either called him, "globe" (geography get it?) or, "pinhead"

I changed the inane grin on his face one day by placing a kipper (smoked fish) on top of the blackboard light. Five minutes into his scribbling and muttering it started cooking and the room stank. He had no idea where the smell was coming from and I thought I'd got awy with it until a blob of hot grease dripped onto his noggin. I got 6 lashes of the can on the @rse for that, but by God, it was worth it! My mates never stopped laughin' for months Like I said, I'm bored and feeling my age so just reminiscing
