Doc

Nice job. I have to get out and do some sports but it is tough. Alley friends kids have grown up. We have a community centre down the street and about 6 years ago I wandered over to practise but these days it is not a good idea. I emailed the centre and offered to take some shots if I was around but they never got back. I would not do it again unless I knew a parent, was official and had a tag or something like that. The few times I was invited by people at work I had a lot of fun.

Will check it out in a couple of days. On the road now.

If I were you I'd contact Canon and escalate it for a credit. Good timing when they released a FW update for lens you spent money on to try and repair.

Thanks for the suggestion, but the good people at Canon US refunded the "repair" charge in full (after Canon Canada told me a refund was impossible because of yada-yada...).

The guy at Canon Canada said, true, your autofocus issue was a known issue, but there were other issues with your lens and they were fixed, so we can't issue a refund. The last part was BS and a subsequent simple request at Canon US resulted in a prompt refund without argument.

The Canon Canada guy is an expert in frustrating customers.

I am an expert at being frustrated by their support and I really, really tried hard to make it work. They are great at fixing broken battery doors but when it comes to that. The only thing that went well for me was getting the locking mode dial retro installed on my 7D.

At one point I thought it was me but after 10 years with Canon USA I have yet to experience that. No matter what, they work with you. I have had two hiccups to date and we came to agreements pretty quickly.

Mmmmm no, you will have to visit Ontario Canada and have a critter magnet installed in your camera. There not cheap but well worth it.

The fun is about to begin once again.
