It's still broken, and back at Canon yet again. They've replaced parts, but can't seem to pin down the problem.
I bought another one since I have a trip coming up soon. This one is good for now. Doesn't even need MA.

I shot a football game at 1/500 and still got some blur in the feet and hands. 1/160 you get good prop blur and you lose it at 1/320. Image Editing OK
