Well here you can see how the Auto 65pt AF didn't do what I'd hoped. But, where the focus is placed, is sharp, lol. I was tracking the bird for a while though, so it wasn't a timing thing. Seems like the best bet is expanded AF, or spot AF in most cases. But auto can work sometimes, as I said before.

Anyone know when we will be able to work on our RAW files in LR and ACR?

Really, you can't process photos from the 7D2 in LR at this time? I'd like to know as well.

Just picked up my 7D II today. I am an avid LIghtroom user, but think I want to learn DPP since LR isn't available. I look forward to the challenge. I would appreciate any links to articles or other publications that can help me with the steep learning curve. I will try YouTube, but would also prefer some informative reading.

Thanks in advance.

Wm.

Just like every new camera, it takes adobe awhile to update their software to read the new raw files. Normally the DNG converter comes out really quickly as a work around. It has taken more than 30 days a few times for LR to be updated. No big, just shot Raw+jpeg and keep the Raws for later.

I'm assuming Teds here in Oz? I bought mine, body only, from them on a pre-order collected Saturday (01Nov2014) our time. But mine was a genuniely body-only one. A body-only box, not a larger one with lens removed. I'd not really intended to buy from Teds but their price was OK (if not great) and they most certainly received the first stock I'm aware of down here. I have an actual use where it seemed nice to have the new camera, Real Soon Now, so paying a little extra to receive the camera sooner rather than later, and the chance to work with it beforehand, seemed worth paying a little extra.

DigiDirect in the CBD had a launch event last Thursday night, with a Canon Rep there showing the features. I'd normally avoid the CBD like the plague, but fought the traffic to pick up mine.

First real chance to use it was on Saturday out at the airport. Still feeling quite overwhelmed at the options available for customisation!

I am enjoying the great shots and jealous as I don't have mine in hand yet. I am extremely anxious to get it now.

Keep'em coming along with all of your observations.

I really don't have interest in wildlife shots, but I have to say I've seen some amazing shots here with the 7D MK II. I'm very interested in the 7D MK II for sports, action and video, I look forward to see your examples.
