A small thing but something else the 40D didn't have. (The Rebel XT had an IR receiver but smart phones had not been invented yet.) Gallery

You could reverse them if you wanted to or assign a couple of another adjustments to the rear dial, but I am not sure why you would. I do it to make sure the top index finger dial controls the Aperture in both the Av mode as well as Manual mode. Sharad Medhavi

The other thing I do is set the lock switch to lock the multi-controller (joystick) to prevent accidental AF point changes. I don't have issues with the quick control dial getting moved and a 1/3 stop change in aperture isn't going to usually be a big deal, but AF points getting bumped can be Cameras: 7D2, S100

I am assuming that 5D3 would allow a bit more cropping without compromising picture quality. Doing the math, the 7DII puts about twice as many pixels on target per square mm than the 5DIII. 5DIII is 25600 pixels per square mm and the 7DII is about 53300 for the same area. How that translates into reach advantage is more difficult to assess because optically there is no reach advantage. You just have more pixels on the target to play with. Not sure why, but call me JJ.
