I believe you can MFA with the TC, and it will save the separate settings from your lens without the TC.

I tried that twice on my both 1.4x and 2.0x and after moving the mfa from 0 to any number - or + my 7d2 went dead and have to take out battery to have power. I even followed the instruction from Kenko website for camera compatibility.

Wow. Nevermind. :)

I don't think it is intentionally designed to do that. Unless that is Canons method of re-directing Kenko users to Canon TC's.

I had the same issue with a current Kenko 1.4 on my 6D.

It would appear that Kenko's don't play well with Canon bodies that allow MFA at W and T end of zoom lenses...even if the lens you have MFA'd is not a zoom.

For example, my 200MM F2.8L when MFA'd with the Kenko 1.4x would freeze my 6D, yet my 50D and 1D4 were fine.

Likewise my old Tammy 150-600 would do the same.

Both of my kenko TC work well with my 7D but with 7D mark II when lens is MFA it won't work I am satified with my 7D2 paires with 500mm without doing MFA so I can use my kenko TCs :)

Looks like she wants to come in!
I made a mistake going to work for a friend, not working out to well. Seems he didn't keep his word about some things, go figure. Looks I'll be working for myself, contracting to a company starting pretty soon, so hopefully by spring I can upgrade, although I will be keeping my 7d1 also.
