Nothing special, just a squirrel. But, what's that he's eating? At first I thought it was a bolt with the threaded end hanging down, but now I'm not sure. Anyone, any ideas?

Looks like a rubber twin tail grub fishing lure to me. I hope I'm wrong.

You have it completely right Larry. The frozen water forces the Eagles and other raptors to the only open ice and LD14 is actually a world renowned location. I think the only other more famous spot is in Alaska. The warm weather we are having has definitely impacted the icing and caused the Eagles to remain more scattered. I live in Des Moines Iowa and I plan on hitting LD 14 in the next year or two. I have a few photog friends that always come back with absolutely outstanding shots from LD14.

I don't know if it's world renowned, but Conowingo Dam is a well know spot for Eagles. As a matter of fact, I talked to folks who came from Japan to photograph at this spot. Alaska is on my hit list - one day.

I see CF cards as dinosaurs, there are fewer CF card readers around, and the cards are much harder to find in stores. SD cards are almost as fast. For most, the speeds will probably be indistinguishable. SD card readers are everwhere and some are tiny. My laptop has an SD reader. SD cards are convenient.

Future cameras will probably only have SD slots.

(I do have a couple of CF card as backups.)

SD cards are too slow to clear the buffer when shooting BIF, at least for me.

That's probably it. This is a parking lot and boat ramp. Lots of fishing boats launched and retrieved here.

No foxes or birds, just an odd pair of selfies. When I travel light, but want some versatility. I mount my Canon 70-300mm DO on a camera. This time the 7DII. I was staying in a Howard Johnson last Tuesday and while brushing my teeth, I realized the lighting for the mirror over the sink made an odd catchlight in my eyes. Voila, a square pupil, sort of. These heads have been edited, vignette added, etc and cropped.
And I forgot I had put on a couple of Breathe Right strips (big nose requires more expansion).

Like the catchlight in the eyes. Which soft box you use?
